These “hot” coloured paintings are fairly new for me and I am enjoying the sensations in creating them. I visited Zimbabwe and other parts of southern Africa recently and felt a compulsion to recreate the scenes from my memory just the way I had done with my Canadian adventures.
I find these new colours create a whole new atmosphere when placed together in one showing and can warm up the whole setting. They are an interesting contrast to the Arctic and Ice images. There will be more of these hotter paintings in my future.
